IT’S METRO TIME! For athletes & their families who are new to the team, here’s how the metro tournament works:
The boys and girls swim on separate weekends; however, the whole team participates in BOTH WEEKENDS.
BOYS METRO: Saturday January 18
The BOYS METRO meet is Saturday, January 18 at WMAC. On Friday, January 17, the boys will go to team dinner at the Watsons (7305 Blue Cypress) after practice and then go home, and the girls will go to their own separate team dinner and then stay at that same house for a sleepover.
At the sleepover, the girls team will make costumes to wear and posters for their teammates. They will also be decorating the boys’ houses in a show of support. All athletes will be back at their sleepover location no later than 11pm. They will head to West Mesa the next morning to cheer on the boys’ team in their costume. Parents will need to pick their girls up from the meet when it's over, usually around 12-1.
GIRLS METRO: Saturday January 25
The next weekend (January 24 & 25), we will do the exact same thing for the boys sleepover during GIRLS METRO.

Details will be posted soon!
While only the boys are competing, there are 29 teams participating so it will still be a reasonably long meet. Meet starts at 8:00 and is scheduled to end by 2:00.
Swim practices always run 4:30-6:00pm this season unless otherwise stated. We'll have practice Monday - Friday every day, except for Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Parents, please be outside and ready to pick your kids up by the time we're out of practice.
If you haven't already signed up for our Remind group chat, send a text message to the phone number 81010 with the message @lcswimd.
All athletes must have a completed physical and form in order to tryout.
All athletes must have completed Life of an Athlete in order to tryout.
Link to additional APS forms, such as code on conduct:
Practice is at Highland pool from 4:15-5:30, you will need to be there no later than 4:00 pm so we can start at 4:15pm sharp. Club swimmers need to be at practice on Tuesdays and Fridays.
APS dive practice will also start on October 28th, 2019. The tentative schedule will be:
All swimmers need to bring their blue slips and concussion management forms on their first day. DO NOT bring the physicals. Physicals must be turned into the trainer at LCHS who will give you the blue slip. Without the blue slip, you cannot tryout.
If you are in a fall sport, you may not tryout until the end of your fall sport. Please send an email to Lacuevaswimanddive@gmail.com and let me know about your special circumstance. If you turned in your blue slip to that fall sport, please let me know what sport so that I can look it up.
BOYS TAKE STATE! Congratulations to our Boys team for working hard all season to WIN the state title for the first time in 22 years!
GIRLS TAKE HOME 2ND! Our girls team fought until the end and never gave up but came up just short of the blue trophy. We are proud of every athlete on this team, and we cannot compete without each of you!
