- Practice normal times Monday-Wednesday. All club swimmers must attend two practices this week; one of those practices must be Thursday. We are tapering so plan on being out of the water by 5:30 PM.

- State Prelims. Swimmers need to be at the Academy by 12:45PM. Warm-up will begin at 1:30 PM. First race is scheduled for 3:00 PM. This will last three to four hours. So plan on bringing water and healthy snacks. We will warm down as a team after competition has ended.

We are less than two weeks out from State. I want to give everyone a heads up about what to expect.
- If I talked to you about Saturday being your last meet, then you will not need to attend practice for the rest of the Season.
- Practice as usual this week.
- District will be held this Saturday at West Mesa. All swimmers need to be at West Mesa by 6:30 AM. We will warm up from 7:00-7:40 and the meet will start at 8:00AM. This will be a long day, plan on being there until about 2:00 PM.
- Sunday the 12th entries are due at midnight. I will be talking to those of you who have qualified in more than one event to see what you would like to swim. I will do my best to put you in those events, but my final decision will be based on what is best for the team. We are only allowed four swimmers per event at State; my goal is to have as many events with four entered as possible. At this point rosters for State are final. I will be talking with swimmers who will be alternates for relays on Saturday. Each relay is only allowed on alternate who has not qualified for State. There will be many factors taken into consideration as to who makes alternates for relays. If you did not qualify for State or an alternate for State, you will not need to practice after this point.
- For the week of February 13-17th, all club swimmers are required to be at two High School practices. One of them must be Thursday the 16th.
- Thursday the 16th, there will be a team meeting at Highland starting at 3:45 PM for all State swimmers. Please do not be late.
- There will be a team dinner on the 16th, more information to come.
- Friday the 17th, team breakfast at Weck’s on Paseo by 9:30 AM.
- State Prelims. Swimmers need to be at the Academy by 12:45PM.
- State Finals. Swimmers need to be at the Academy by 9:00 AM.
- Banquet will be held the 22nd from 5:00-8:00 PM at La Cueva.
- More information about upcoming events will come as we get closer. I just wanted to get the basic details out as soon as possible.
Metro Meets are one of our biggest meets of the year, feel free to wear your tech suits for this meet.
Both weekends all swimmers need to be at West Mesa at 8:00 AM to watch diving. We will sit in the bleachers on the north side of the pool. When diving ends, we will move to our area between the diving boards. Swimming warm up begins at 9:30 and the first race is scheduled for 10:45 AM. With awards after the meet, plan on being at the pool until 2:00 PM. Please bring snacks and water for the day.
Even if you are not competing in Metro, you are required to be there and support your team.
We will place a second bear wear order. Teddy Decker will collect orders through Boys Metro. They can send the orders home with Logan or give them to me at the meets. The order forms are still available on the web site.
Thank you
Coach Vince

All APS activities are cancelled today. This includes practice and dinners. No one will be at Highland, so please do not attend. If your club team has practice later, you should attend that.
The dinner is cancelled. If the hosts are home and want to welcome you in, that is their decision and your decision to attend.
I will keep you updated as to the status of the meet tomorrow.
Thanks

Attached are the entries for the APS Invite. I tried to put as many swimmers in events as possible, while also having the strongest team. We are limited to the number we can enter this meet, so it ws very difficult. Most meets there will be more opportunities to swim.
Swimmers in the meet need to be at West Mesa by 7:00 AM. If you are not swimming in the meet, you will need to be there by 7:30 AM. Even if you are not swimming, you are required to attend the meet.
Inclement Weather: With winter and snow starting I wanted to let you know our policy. If APS cancels school or ends school early, then practice is cancelled. On a day with a two hour delay, we will still have practice. If it is snowing in the afternoon, there will still be practice. At the point where I feel it is unsafe, I will cancel practice early.
Thanks

Hello athletes and families,
I have created an event in the new system for the car wash this weekend. It has volunteers associated with it and you should be able to log in and sign up for the even through Active.
Would you please do this if you plan to attend this event?
I know some of you have alread told me you would be there, but please go in and sign up on the system as well so we can see how well this works.
Also, please note that there is only one time slot for the entire event. Please go ahead and sing up even if you can't be there the entire time.
Thanks!
